Desert in Bloom - The Anza Borrego Springs Park headquarters is a good place to start your viewing of desert flowers. Any place the flowers are blooming there will be people. You can expect long lines waiting for parking places on weekends.

The flower blooming season may occur from mid February through mid June. The peak is normally late February thru March about a month long.  

Weekends crowds are large. So if you want the best experience go in the middle of the week Tuesday through Thursday. The best information on desert blooming is DesertUSA. I almost did not link this site it has good information but it loaded with annoying adds.

A good place to start viewing and to collect information is the Anza Borrego Park headquarters and display area.  It is easy to walk around and you can fined just about anything that is blooming in the desert there on display. The park rangers can tell you where to go if you want to view more of the flowers in a different desert setting.  

Tip: This is a desert. Please take at least twice as much water with you as you normally drink. People die every year in the California desert do not be one of them.
